About
Kenneth A. Shores
Associate Professor of Education
University of Delaware

I study how education policy shapes students’ opportunities and contributes to educational inequality. My research encompasses school finance, racial disparities in school discipline and special education identification, and measures of student achievement.
I am an associate professor in the University of Delaware’s School of Education and am affiliated with the Center for Research in Education and Social Policy.
Before graduate school, I taught elementary and middle school on the Navajo Nation and middle school in Ecuador. I received my Ph.D. in education policy analysis from Stanford University.
I was a National Academy of Education/Spencer Dissertation Fellow, a Philanthropy and Civic Society Fellow, a Stanford Graduate Fellow, and an Institute of Education Sciences Predoctoral Fellow. In 2017, I was a co-recipient of the National Council on Measurement in Education’s Annual Award for exceptional achievement in educational measurement.
